TOP Plugins for NEW Music Producers (2022 Beginner's Guide)

music production tips for beginners

Lately, I've been defining music production like this: using tools and processes to take your written song from where it is now to how you hear it in your head.

That "how you hear it in your head" part can be tricky to accomplish. Especially if you're a beginner, and just started messing around in a DAW... it can be overwhelming trying to figure out how to use software to effect your audio the way you want.

Some of the best tools for getting your song to sound more like what you want, are called plugins.

Maybe you've already messed around with some of these... and EQ or compressor... maybe one of the fun ones like a reverb or delay...

I wanted to share the best beginner plugins to learn and show you what they sound like on different instruments and sounds. Sparing you the confusing technical jargon, and shortening the learning curve these pieces of software can have.

That way you can feel more comfortable using them in your productions, and have a better grip on how helpful and game-changing these little guys can be!

In this video you'll learn:

  • What EQ & compression actually do, and how you can use them in your songs
  • How to know which kind of plugin to reach for, based off your desired outcome
  • Paid plugins... are they worth it?
  • Common mistakes beginners make with plugins, and how to avoid them!

Enjoy!
